I ordered 4 automatic feeders and a water fountain from PETKIT, and honestly, they’ve been a lifesaver for my busy schedule. As someone with multiple cats, making sure everyone gets fed on time every day is really important to me, and these have worked perfectly. The feeders are reliable, consistent, and make feeding stress-free, even during long work days. The water fountain has also been amazing—my cats always have fresh water, and they actually seem to drink more from it.

If you’re a busy cat parent or have multiple cats like I do, I highly recommend PETKIT. It gives me peace of mind knowing my cats are taken care of even when life gets hectic. Definitely worth the investment!

I recently adopted a sweet cat from a shelter who had been overfed a bit and needs to lose a little. As a result he devours every scrap of food I put in front of him immediately and also will often try to wake me up very early for his morning meal. A timed feeder like this was a must now that I'm starting to work some days in the office.

While others have complained about setup issues, it was easy enough for me. Note it only works with 2G Wifi - I have both 2G and 5G networks and it definitely only worked with the 2G. While the app is not the most intuitive, I was able to figure out how to set "feeding plans" fairly quickly. I am trying to feed my cat a quarter cup per day so it's not optimal that the smallest increment is 1/10 of a cup but aside from that, setting up feeding plans worked fine.

Once I had it fully set up, my 13.5-lb kitty went crazy trying to break in and get the food for around 24 hours - he was shoving his nose up the spout, clawing the bowl off its base, scratching the tower and moving it around (as you can see in the pic!). I was impressed that he never tipped it over or shut it off, and after the next day or so he seemed to get used to it and left it alone.

The only issue I experienced is that if your wifi goes out it seems to cancel any feedings that were scheduled to take place during that time. This happened twice during the early morning feeding and caused me to get awakened by a hungry cat but it seems fine now. You also get an alert on your phone and can check to make sure your cat was fed if you are away. If your plans change and you are out unexpectedly you can also schedule an additional feeding on the fly. Overall I definitely recommend, while the app and setup may be a little challenging having the flexibility is great and it was definitely sturdy enough to withstand my monster kitty!

Pretty freaking awesome!! This was the only pet feeder that I could find that was reasonably priced, contained a stainless steel removable bowl, and had an app. The top is very secure and my cat cannot get into it. The portion sizes are completely customizable. You can upload information about the pets food that they are eating so it can properly determine portion sizes. My cat is obsessed with this and was so excited when I put it together. I can't wait to try more products from this company as this exceeded expectations!

Easy to use! Cat runs every time it comes on

Esthetics: the unit comes in a few colors to choose from. The semi-transparent bin not only does it look modern, it also gives you the ability to monitor the feed at a glance, without having to open the lid or checking the app.
* I do wish the base had the option of black or dark gray instead of just white.
3L is actually not a bad size at all. I thought it would be too small for my cat but it had been fine.

Installation: easy to install abs ready to go within minutes. Follow the instructions and it will be easy. They also have a YouTube channel with instructions in video. Make sure you wash the bowl and the gray tray itself before use.
The food stays fresh due to their dual locking system.

Programming: this connects to Bluetooth or wifi 2.4 so it’s nice to be able to make changes even when not at home. The app layout is a bit awkward but once you get through the setup it’s actually nice. It has many features such as the ability to add your pet’s info so that it recommends a pattern to use and give suggested feeding times abs portions personalized for your pet. The more info you enter the better the app suggestion is. I entered the breed, age, weight, and type of food. Easy to use after you get the hang of it.
* the app doesn’t really like whole numbers when working in lbs. I put 8 and save the info and it would revert it to 7.9 or 8.2. Not a deal breaker but awkward.*
The feeding portions are pretty accurate and I have not had any issues with this.

Cleaning: easy to clean the bowl without having to take everything apart. The bowl itself is made of stainless steel which reduces bacteria. (Reduces the risk of chin black heads for hairless cats or dogs).

Security: the feeding button on the unit itself was moved from the top, which now houses the locking system for the lid, to the side of the unit. You can use the app to disable that button so that your pets don’t feed themselves lol. Believe me, that was a huge issue with the mini pro.

Conclusion: reasonable price, wifi enabled, reasonable app after setup, good size, many options within the app, esthetically pleasing. I would buy it again in a heart beat.

I'm really loving this feeder so far. I've had a few others in the past and so far, this is my favorite.

Pros:
- I love the stainless steel bowl. Stainless steel is supposedly better because bacteria can't grow as easily.
- It seals really well! I've had issues in the past with food getting stale in self-feeders, but this one seals well at the top and around the dispenser when not in use. It also has a spot for a silica gel packet, which also helps keep the food fresh.
- It's on the small side, so it doesn't take up too much space.
- The portion sizes increase in very small increments, so it makes personalizing meals very easy. I don't like it when self-feeders have like, four portion size settings because it's harder to get it just right.
- Most of the pieces can come apart to be washed in the dishwasher! Major plus that other self-feeders I've had do not include.
- The app will notify you if there's an issue with the feeder (low on food, jammed, etc.), which is nice.

Cons (all minor things that I want to point out, but don't affect my score):
- The app is a bit extra. There's a lot going on and it can be a bit confusing at first. It's fine once you set everything up, and some might actually like all of the extra features, but it just doesn't need to be as fancy as it is, in my opinion.
- Although I do like the bowl, I still wish it was a tad bit shallower. It's also not quite as tilted as I expected.
- The food storage is on the smaller side.
- This is definitely just for cats. I actually think this is a plus, because I don't like how most feeders seem like they're for dogs, but cats can also use them. I like that this is sized for a cat, but I'm noting that in the con list, just in case someone was looking for a dog feeder.

I have a PETKIT Pure Drink fountain that works very well and is quick and easy to maintain. Wanted to get the matching feeder. This feeder is attractive and simple to assemble. It’s quality built and smooth all around. Aesthetically and tactilely flawless. The removable metal bowl is a dream to clean. The size is perfect for small spaces. The lid would be hard to intentionally open by a cat or dog. The removable food hopper is a great idea. The one issue I have with the unit is the impeller that portions out the food cannot be disassembled for cleaning. This also makes it hard to dry completely so air drying or blow dryer drying further adds to maintenance time.

The bad news is the app. It’s not intuitive at all. I use a wifi extender that provides the 2.4 GHz required to connect and manage the feeder. Granted I have a lot of smart outlets and smart switches connected to the extender. Spent hours trying to get the feeder connected. It worked by a miracle so I put it where it will permanently live before setting up the cats and feeding portions. Unfortunately It disconnected from the wifi. Spent a few more hours trying to get it reconnected working through the “password errors” (which have nothing to do with the password) and considered returning it due to poor wifi connectivity, and lack of guidance. Even the email response from PETKIT was unhelpful. Basically instructing me to work with my router. Finally thought to unplug a few smart outlets and it eventually connected. I immediately added the cat info and set up preferred feedings

The next problem is the lack of instruction on how to set up the feeder on the app. After adding the name, DOB and weight for my 2 cats and programming their meals, waited for the feeding time to pass, then nothing. The unit didn’t work. An hour later I found you have to update the feeders feeding plan by adding the 2 cats. It is now working. None of this is documented or intuitive.

The app is designed to be sexy and some aspects are. I like that based on my cats age and weight the app suggests food portions. And the portions can be further customized based on the nutritional value of the food. I also like the health record reminders such as vet visits and last shots. However I find it more cumbersome and bloated than necessary. I have no desire to use the app as another social media account and share pictures of, or view pictures of stranger’s pets. I have Facebook for that. I would like a simple app that allows me to control my cat’s food portions and feeding times. Our intent is to use it as a backup feeder when we are away.

Anyhow, other than the set up frustration the feeder is exactly what i was looking for. Sleek, blends with environment as opposed to other feeders available, small size, easy to clean (but not dry).

PETKIT, please offer a plain app without the social media bloat. Also, please add better guidance for setting up the feeder on the app, or make it simpler to link. Thanks!

Well designed. Well built. Easy to use. A perfect feeder that can control my cat’s weight efficiently. I recommend this feeder.

I have a Siamese cat, they are notoriously known to be chatty and extremely loud if they don’t get their way. And after countless meowwwwwww in the weee early hours of the morning, I had it! Mama needs her sleep after all, so, I bought this auto feeder to reduce the obnoxious early morning meowing.

After a month of owning this auto feeder, I have to admit, it’s sooooo great!!! I setup 4 feedings through the day: 7am, 12pm, 5pm, 10pm. When the food is dispensed, it sounds like a gumball machine and the cat RUNS like the wind to it. So cute. This auto feeder has kept me sane for an entire month and I actually feel grateful to have this butler service! I love the notifications on my phone that my Siamese has been fed, even when I’m not home. Also, the design is so modern and sleek. Very cool.

CONS - the application user interface is horrible horrible horrible! There are too many steps to get it to what you need and there’s too many other unnecessary items that I never use. Should consider keeping the UI simple!!!!

My other qualm is I wish there was a smaller sized feed as a snack. My cat doesn’t always eat the entire drop and I hate kibbles sitting out there like that.
